More than 2,100 Iranian fighters killed in Iraq, Syria: Iranian official

In a statement given by the head of Iran’s veterans’ affairs office on Tuesday, it was shared that more 2,100 fighters who were sent to and from have been killed.

Mohammad Ali Shahidi briefed the press said:

“Some 2,100 martyrs have been martyred so far in or other places defending the holy mausoleums.”

Shahidi, is head of Iran’s Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs. He was speaking at a conference on martyrdom culture in Tehran.

In November, Shahidi gave a figure of the fighters who got killed, but in the recent statement the figure was more than double the number he gave in November, that too only referred to Syria, this time it includes fighters who went to also.

Along with Russia, is also supporting and backing the Syrian Bashar al-Asad and to fight against group, it is also organizing fighters against and sending them into and Syria.
