The ISIS fighters have moved into the main medical complex of Mosul, located in the west of Mosul, made up of few buildings located between the two bridges of the city, used as observational point and sniper fire.
The area is beyond the reach of the aid organizations. This has raised concerns for many as nearly 75,000 people live there.
Nearly 160,000 civilians have been displaced ever since the fight erupted.
“The reports from inside western Mosul are distressing,” U.N. humanitarian coordinator Lise Grande said on Tuesday.
“Prices of basic food and supplies are soaring … Many families without income are eating only once a day. Others are being forced to burn furniture to stay warm.”
