Blast hits Izmir city of Turkey, killing at least two people just outside the courthouse on Thursday. The blast that took place in a car was followed by shooting by two suspected terrorists.
As a result of the gun battle, the police officer and member of courthouse staff were shot dead, regional governor Erol Ayyildiz told reporters.
He also added that the vehicle used by the terrorists was suspected as a threat by the security forces as it approached a checkpoint, causing the attackers to detonate their explosives and open fire. Afterwards gunfire broke out between police and the men suspected.
At least 10 people have been injured in the blast that was followed by the gun battle.
