Cop who probed and exonerated Narender Modi from Gujarat riots appointed as new NIA Chief

YC Modi, the senior officer of IPS who was part of the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation team and who acquitted Gujraat’s butcher of Muslim, Narendra has now been appointed as the new of India’s National Investigation Agency.

Modi has been named as the new of National Investigation Agency (NIA) by the Cabinet as Director General of the NIA. His appointment has come as a follow-up of RK Raghavan, who was the head of appointed SIT to probe the Gujrat riots.

According to the reports, YC will hold the post as till May 31, 2021 as ordered by the department of Personnel and Training.
