Brother of Iran’s President sent behind bars over financial charges
Brother of Iran’s President has been sent to prison over financial charges.
During a press briefing, Iran’s judiciary spokesman, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei said on Sunday that Hossein Fereydoun has been subject to various investigations that includes some other people as well with regard to financial matter.
Mohseni-Ejei stated that Fereydoun was asked to post a bail required by court, but was sent behind the bars as he failed to secure the bail. The spokesman of Iran’s judiciary further added that if Fereydoun posts the bail, as asked by the court, then he would be free, since he’s not in temporary detention.
Answering to a reporter on charges imposed on President’s brother, the spokesman said that they are related to financial issues, but have nothing to do with bank arrears.
