The army units initiated the attack with heavy pounding with rockets and artillery fire at the positions of abhat Fateh al-Sham and Daesh, killing dozens of terrorists.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has also confirmed that the Syrian army has gained back the control of the town from Taybat al-Imam after days of heavy fighting. The militants were retreating from the town according to some unnamed militant.
In addition to the recapturing of the town, the Syrian forces also moved ahead to liberate more areas along the strategic M5 highway between the cities of Damascus and Aleppo.
