ISIS’ presence in India made Tajikistan restrict visa policy for Indian nationals

According to the new visa by Tajikistan, nationals from now onward will not be able to obtain visa on arrival, when traveling to Tajikistan. The facility to get visa online has also been withdrawn for the nationals.

In order to get a visa for Tajikistan, the nationals are now required to apply in person at the Embassy of in India.

According to the reports the change in visa issuance for the nationals is due to the increase in the arrival of fighters in the neighboring Afghanistan, who are by origin.

A travel agent, who requested to keep his name unknown shared, “Ongoing war inside is already creating problems for bordering areas therefore authorities are vigilant to issue visas to nationals for the time being”.
