Russian bombers targeted ISIS command centers in Deir ez-Zor

Russia sent its six long-range bombers to the Syrian governorate of Deir ez-Zor to bomb Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) targets on Monday. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian bombers conducted a similar attack on Saturday.
The Tupolev Tu-22M3 bombers flew all the way from Russia, through Iranian and Iraqi airspace on Monday and conducted airstrikes on the terrorist group’s command centers and weapons stockpiles, the ministry said in a statement.
The Russian military reported that all the targets were successfully destroyed.
