Russian bombers targeted ISIS command centers in Deir ez-Zor

Russia sent its six long-range bombers to the Syrian governorate of Deir ez-Zor to Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) targets on Monday. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian bombers conducted a similar attack on Saturday.

The Tupolev Tu-22M3 bombers flew all the way from Russia, through Iranian and Iraqi airspace on Monday and conducted on the group’s command centers and weapons stockpiles, the ministry said in a statement.

The Russian reported that all the targets were successfully destroyed.
